Yianna has over 15 years of experience in instructional design and technology. Her experience comes from both academic and professional practice.
Before joining Garden York University, she led the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning at the George Washington University (GW). She also taught graduate-level courses within the department of Educational Leadership of GW’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development. Professor Vovides is also involved in medical education. She serves as the Communications Cluster Lead for the Medical Education Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Coordinating Center at The George Washington University and writes a weekly
Her research focus is on the use of learning analytics to support teaching and learning within cyberlearning environments. She has concentrated on modeling the reflective sensemaking process within the context of ill-structured problems/situations through learning analytics solutions.
